This 11-day trek to the Everest Region features the culture of the Sherpas along with great views of Mt. Everest and many other Himalayan peaks. Accompanied by a Sherpa guide you will stay for two nights and acclimatize to the altitude at Namche Bazaar which is the hub of all trekking and climbing in the Everest region. You have the option to take a day hike to the beautiful twin villages of Kunde and Kumjung. Later trek to the holiest Sherpa Buddhist monastery at Thyangboche situated below the flanks of Mt. Everest. Look for the rare musk deer and the national bird of Nepal – the colorful Danphe pheasant.

Itinerary

Landing in Kathmandu is quite an experience. The views of the Mountain ranges from the window seat of the airplane are totally amazing. In your Everest Panorama Trekking, you’ll see such views but from a close quarter.

Following your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, You’ll be welcomed to Nepal by a representative of Hiking Himalayas at TIA’s arrival terminal. We’ll transfer you to the hotel in a private car.

We’ll drive to Manthali in the morning to catch our flight to Lukla. Today’s flight from Manthali to Lukla is one of the most adrenaline-filled experiences in this trek. A flight to Lukla and landing on a steep mountain runway bring us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla(2850m). After meeting the crew, we head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail and then stay overnight in Phakding(2656m).

After breakfast, we hit the trail and head towards Namche Bazaar. We’ll cross the river on high-suspension bridges several times over the Dudh Koshi river. We’ll enter Sagarmatha National Park after crossing Monjo(2845m). We’ll ascend aggressively with the trail to Namche(3450m) enjoying some breathtaking views. If the weather is clear, we get the first glimpse of Mt EverestNamche is the main trading village in the Khumbu and has a busy Saturday market – a meeting place for the Hindu traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have crossed the glaciated Nangpa La.

For getting used to the altitude, we’ll rest in Namche and explore the Namche Bazaar and near surroundings. Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, tea shops, and souvenir shops. It is an ideal place to spend a day, acclimatizing to the new altitude before heading off towards Tengboche.

We’ll hike to Hotel Everest View(3962m) for the breakfast, here, you’ll be able to enjoy the views of Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. We’ll visit Khunde Hospital(3840m) set up by Sir Edmund Hillary. There are also good views from the National Park Centre and Museum above the town.

Today, After Breakfast, we’ll head for Thame which will take about 4-5 hours. We’ll trek through fields, forests, and sherpa villages of Thamo(3480m) – A village with old stone houses, Gumba, and Samde village, finally making our way to the Thame(3800m) Village. We’ll visit an old monastery in the village of Thame, Dechen Chokhorling Monastery.

Today, we’ll trek from Thame to Khumjung which will take about 5 hours. Along the way, we’ll get to see the majestic mountain on our way to Khumjung(3785m). Once we reach Khumjung, we’ll visit Hillary School. We’ll trek through some sherpa settlements and interact with some ever-smiling sherpas.

After breakfast, we’ll hit the trail which goes downhill to Dudh Koshi. We’ll trek through Phunki Thanga(3305m)and then through the rhododendron forest and after trekking for a while we’re in Tengboche(3860m). After some rest, we’ll visit Tengboche monastery which is the largest in the Khumbu region and is famous for its Mani Rimdu Festival and the Yeti Skull.

We’ll trek back to Lukla from the same route. This is the trek of our trip. So, after reaching Lukla you’re free to explore the Namche in the afternoon and have a few drinks in remembrance of the beautiful trail we trekked.

Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, their two major neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural, and religious significance. There will be a half-day guided tour to the famous and biggest Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath – the largest Buddhist stupa in NepalBhaktapur Durbar Square – the 15th-century palace of 55 windows, and Swoyambhunath. At the event, you will be briefed about your trip.

After we finish Sightseeing, You’ll be gifted with an evening farewell dinner in a traditional way and many other surprises, for they’ve had a quality time with you.

Yes, you are recommended to bring your own power bank for this trek. As all the villages after Namche are heavily dependent on solar panels for electricity but the frequently changing climate won't do a favor for the solar panels.

When will I get the first glimpse of Everest?

On day 3 of our trek, while trekking from Phakding to Namche, we will get the first glimpse of Everest.

How hard is this trek?

This trek is not as challenging as the Everest Base Camp Trek but still is challenging. You can trek this trail without any problem if you're in a good physique. If you've no problem walking for 5-6 hours, you'll not face many difficulties on this trek.

Which Mountains can I see from this trek?

Everest Panorama Trek is one of the shortest treks of the Everest region. But, whole bunch of mountains can be seen from this trek including Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam,Thamserku, Island Peak, Kusum Kang.
