Gosainkunda Lake trekking route is renowned for 108 fresh water lakes in the Himalayas and popular destination for romantic, sentimental, emotional and religious travellers. One can explore the beautiful Langtang Valley and closely observe the Tamang culture. The altitudes and accessibility to arrive Gosainkunda are varied depending on stamina and physical fitness.

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, pick-up & transfer to hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing
A day trip around the valley, which is rich in Cultural Heritage, consisting of seven sights listed in World Heritage List.
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Beshi (1462m)
A long drive (approximately 8 hrs) on a narrow and rough road but through the beautiful green valleys gets you to a small town situated at the side of the Trishuli River. On the way one passes through many beautiful small villages such as Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, where one can observe the customs of the people in this area. On the way, we enter the Langtang National Park, where our trekking permits will be checked.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2380m)
A relatively flat trail following Langtang Khola through the beautiful rhododendron forest for 2.30 hrs, leads you to Bamboo Lodge. From there, it's 2 hrs uphill through nice forest, leading you to Lama Hotel. Lama Hotel consists of some nice lodges and a few houses surrounded by the beautiful green forest, where one can observe some wildlife (especially monkeys).
Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village (3310m)
We keep on following the Langtang Khola and the beautiful green forest. The climb through green forest is full of joy and one can have the first sight of Mt. Langtang II. On the way we pass through couple of rest houses. Just after Ghoratabela (a village at 2.30 hrs walk from Lama Hotel), there is a national park check post where your permits will be checked. From Ghoratabela the green scenery starts disappearing and disappears completely by the time you arrive to Langtang Village, after 5 hrs walking from Lama Hotel.
Langtang is a beautiful Tamang Village, where one can notice the influence of Tibetan culture in the life. One can see Mt. Ganchhepo (6387m) and Tsergo Ri (4984m) from there.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3750m)
It is a 3 hrs walk on a relatively easy grassy trail along Langtang Khola to reach Kyanjin Gompa. A settlement surrounded by the big snow mountains, Kyanjin Ri is right on the north of the village. One can see Mt. Langtang Lirung (7245m), Mt. Khimjung, Mt. Ganchhepo (6387m), and Mt. Naya Kang, from the village.
Day 07: Explore Hidden Valley
The valley extends to the east and in the end to the north to Langshisha Kharka, which is the meeting point of 3 glaciers. The Mountains are very close and the trail is relatively flat as Langshisha Kharka (4100m) is on a 4 hrs distance.
Day 08: Climb Tsergo Ri (4984m)
On 1hr flat trail and 2.30 hrs hard climb, there is Tsergo Ri (4984m). A magnificent 360 degree panorama including Shishapangma (8012m) of Tibet compensates the hard climb that has been done. Yala Peak is right on the north and one can have a look at the Langtang Valley that he/she has been walking through. Afterwards, it's approximately 2.30 hrs to Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 09: Trek back to Lama Hotel
Day 10: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2190m)
It is the same way back to Bamboo Lodge and at 30 minutes walk from Bamboo Lodge it diverges from the original trail to Syabru Beshi. It is a hard climb through rhododendron forest leading us to a beautiful Tamang Village, where one can observe the daily lives of Tamangs as well as the panoramic view of the Langtang Valley. At the same time one can see Ganesh Himal and Paldor Himal along with Langtang Lirung and Langtang II.
Day 11: Trek to Singompa (3270m)
A steep climb through pine and rhododendron forest for 1 hr and another 2 hrs relatively flat trail through the pine forest leads you to Singompa, which is also known as Chandanbari. A settlement surrounded by the green mixed forest with beautiful green valley on the south.
Day 12: Trek to Laurebinayak (3910m)
Walking on a relatively flat trail through the mixed green forest for 2 hrs you arrive to Cholangpati a place from where one can enjoy the great panorama of the Langtang valley and the green valley on the south along with the view of Langtang Lirung and Langtang II. From here it is 1 hrs steep climb to Laurebinayak. By the time you arrive to Laurebinayak the tree line completely disappears, leaving you on grassy and rough landscape. Laurebinayak is an excellent viewpoint, considering the views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang range mountains from one point.
Day 13: Trek to Gosainkunda (4310m)
The trail follows a steep climb up to a Shakyamuni Temple and on further climb you will have a nice view of Sharaswatikunda and Bhairabkunda. Then it is a gentle climb to Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda is a holy lake for Hindu people, especially for the followers of God Shiva. In this area altogether there are 108 holy lakes, Gosainkunda being the biggest and most important one. There are a few nice lodges and a temple of God Shiva on the side of the big lake. From December to February the lake is frozen.
Day 14: Rest day in Gosainkunda
One can spend the day walking around the big lake, exploring other lakes around, and enjoying the great view of Chhyarkung Chuli, Surya Peak and other surrounding mountains.
Day 15: Trek back to Singompa
Day 16: Trek to Dhunche (1950m)
A steep descent through pine and rhododendron forest for 2.30 hrs and another 1.30 hrs walk on a relatively flat trail leads you to Dhunche, which you have already passed through on your drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Beshi.
Day 17 : Drive back to Kathmandu and farewell Dinner.
Day 18 : Departure or free for personal activities
