This trekking route is renowned for 108 freshwater lakes in the Himalayas and popular destination for romantic, sentimental, emotional, and religious travelers. One can explore the beautiful Langtang Valley and closely observe the Tamang culture. The altitudes and accessibility to arrive at Gosainkunda are varied depending on stamina and physical fitness.
Gosainkunda Trek takes you to the holiest Lake for the Hindu people i.e. Gosainkunda Lake and the place we go throughout the trail is extremely beautiful too. Gosainkunda Lake is considered a holy lake because of its attachment to Lord Shiva, the highest in the Hindu religion hierarchy, and thousands of locals and Indian along with many tourists from other nations of Hindu belief visit this place to pay their homage. On the other hand, non-Hindu tourists visit the Gosainkunda area in equal numbers because of its excitingly beautiful landscape and Lakes.
Gosainkunda Trek will take you to a maximum height of 4,610m. The trek starts from Kathmandu and ends at Dhunche. The high Gosainkunda pass, through the rugged trail with unbelievable views of Himalchuli(7893m), Manaslu(8156m), and Ganesh Himal(7406m). On a clear day, the place offers us the fantastic scenery of the Annapurna Range rising in the north behind the valley of Langtang Lirung. We’ll cross a few huts in the high settlement of Laurebina and cross a small ridge, from where we have the first glimpse of the Holy Lakes of Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda region has about a dozen frozen lakes among which the main three giants are Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda.
Flight to Kathmandu is a scenic experience. The views of the Mountain ranges from the window seat of the airplane are totally amazing.
Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted and welcomed to Nepal by a representative of the Hiking Himalayas at Tribhuvan International Airport‘s arrival terminal. We’ll transfer you to the hotel in a private car.

An Eight hours drive from Kathmandu through Galchi(874m)on Prithvi Highway will lead you to Saybrubesi(2380m). You’ll head north of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridge line vistas to Dhunche(1966m). The first part of your drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth. The path now moves along the gravel road which may sometimes be blocked due to landslides in the rainy season. From Dhunche you’ll drive towards Syabrubesi which will take around an hour. Syabrubesi is a beautiful village stretched out along the ridge line. The sunset is spectacular; brilliantly backlighting the houses perched on the ridge line above. From here you can enjoy spectacular views of Lantang Lirung (7245m), Tibetan Mountain Ranges, and so on.

Today is the 1st trekking of the trip. Today’s trek to Lama Hotel takes about five hours. The trail descends along the ridge on Syabru’s main street, drops to the Ghopche Khola(2050 m), and falls to the Landslide area(1810m) which will take about 2 hours. Afterward, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m) through Bamboo (1960m) which will take about 1 hour and at the end, your trail is level to the Lama Hotel(2470m). En route, you could see red pandas, monkey, and bear if you are lucky. There are few lodges and shops which provide the trekker supplies.

Today, on the 5th day, we’ll trek toward Langtang. After having our breakfast, we’ll hit the trail and trek through Rhododendron and Pine forest for about 3 hours and reach Ghoda Tabela then walk for another two hours and reach Langtang(the biggest village in the area ) inhabited by Buddhist Tamangs and Tibetans. There is a monastery that we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang(3400m).
The old Langtang village was destroyed by Nepals’ 2015 earthquake with only one house standing. But now the village is reviving with smiles on the people.

Today, after breakfast, we’ll trek for 3 hours through small villages and yak pastures. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail takes us to the village of Kyangjin(3870m), where you can visit the local cheese factory and hike to Yala peak (5500m)- an excursion spot, for the beautiful mountain views.

The 7th day of our trip is for rest and exploring the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung, or ascend Kyangjin Ri(4350m), directly behind the village, for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks.

With the rising sun, after breakfast, we’ll trek back the same route towards the Lama Hotel. On our way, we’ll revisit our favorite destinations on the trail. Our today’s Trek from Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel will take about 6 hours.

After breakfast, we’ll hit the trail and head towards Thulo Syabru, the destination of the day. We’ll first head towards Pahiro and trek uphill steeply through the forest, cross the river bridge, and ascend towards the village of Thulo Syabru(2230m).

Today, on the tenth day, we’ll pass through Schools and gompas. The trail climbs the steep hill and to Dursagang(2660m). The trail further proceeds through the forest of hemlock and oak to the top of the ridge at Foprang Danda(3190m). Now, we’ll be passing the government agriculture office and reach Sing Gompa(3330m) – the main attraction of Chandan Bari. From Sing Gompa, the trail climbs gradually up to Chalang pati(3650m). From Chalang pati, you’ll get the views of LangtangLirung(7234m), the Mountains edging Tibet and the majestic forest full of rhododendron and pine. Now, we’ll ascend along the trail to Laurebina Yak(3950m).

After 11 days of our trip, we’ll finally reach Gosainkunda. The trail ascends up to a small temple with a statue of Sakyamuni(Buddha) and further climbing you can see good views of Saraswati kunda. After trekking for some while you have excellent views of Bhairav Kunda and climbing gently you will reach Gosaikunda(4380m). You’ll have great views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, and Mt.Annapurna on today’s trek. Gosainkunda Lake is believed to be created by Lord Shiva. So, it carries a huge religious significance to the Hindus. There are around 108 lakes in the Gosaikunda area.

Today, after breakfast, we’ll head toward Sing Gumpa. We’ll trek through the village of Laurebina Yak(3950m). We’ll have great views of the surrounding mountains while trekking on the trail. It’ll take about 6 hours to reach our final destination of the day, Sing Gumpa(3330m).

This is the last trek of our trip. We’ll start our day after breakfast. You can visit the Yak Cheese Farm in the morning. We’ll hit the trail and trek downhill. We’ll pass through various tiny villages and forests before reaching Dhunche(2030m).

After breakfast, we’ll drive toward Kathmandu from Dhunche which will take about 6 hours whilst enjoying the scenic beauty of Nepal’s High Himalayas and terrace farming of the high hills. Today’s day will be over by dropping you at the hotel.

Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, their two major neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural, and religious significance. There will be a half-day guided tour to the famous and biggest Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath – the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Bhaktapur Durbar Square – the 15th-century palace of 55 windows, and Swoyambhunath. At the event, you will be briefed about your trip.
After we finish Sightseeing, You’ll be gifted with an evening farewell dinner in a traditional way and many other surprises, for they’ve had a quality time with you.
