Mardi Himal is the name given to the feature of the long rising ridge and its summit from the southwesterly lower slope of Mt. Machapuchare, the famous triangular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. As we shall soon see from a closer and more westerly vantage point, the mountain hold wins peak – thus its name, Machapuchare, which in English means “Fishtail”. Machhapuchhare is the most southerly high point of the Annapurna Massif, the awesomely majestic grouping of mountains in the central Himalayas that includes 5 of the 12 highest mountains in the world – all at the close quarters to our route.
Mardi Himal Trek, a magnificent trekking trail in the Annapurna region is a gateway to Mardi Himal and its base camp. It offers some jaw-dropping sceneries of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre, and Manaslu Ranges. This Trekking Trail is a complete package for adventure seekers as it fills someone trekking this trail with adrenaline and eye-catching views of mountains and high hills. The beauty of proudly standing silvery mountains and the greenery of the high hills is only offered by some of the best trekking trails in the Himalayas, which can be experienced here, in Mardi Himal Trek.
This ten-day hike leads us through the forest and above the tree line up to High Camp at (4,100 m.) from where there are the most amazing close-quarter’s views of the Annapurna Range.
Following your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, You’ll be welcomed to Nepal by a representative of Hiking Himalayas at TIA’s arrival terminal. We’ll transfer you to the hotel in a tourist van [Duration: 30 mins].
After early morning breakfast, we’ll depart from Kathmandu and head towards Pokhara(200km), around 7:00 AM in the morning, (By Air/ By Bus) approximately 7hrs away by tourist bus. We’ll have our lunch on the way to Pokhara(822m). You’ll arrive at Pokhara at approximately 2:00 o’clock. Pokhara lakeside sits, at the “front row center” of one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. The Annapurna and famous “Fishtail” mountain peak of Machapuchhare tower over the tropical setting of Pokhara and the time you spend there will be the scenic highlight of your trip. You’re free in Pokhara Valley also called the “Magic Land” or Dreamland” of Nepal, to explore the various interesting place of your own like boating in Fewa lake while looking at the Annapurna Range of the Himalayas. In the evening you will prepare yourself for your trek to Poon Hill.

After early breakfast at the hotel, we’ll drive to Phedi(1130m). The first trekking of the trip will start from here. We’ll walk through forests with a picturesque view of the Himalayan Ranges, birds singing and flowers blooming along the trail. Before our destination of lunch, we’ll pass through numerous traditional villages observing the local culture and lifestyle of the people. In the village of Dhampus, we’ll enjoy a tasty Himalayan lunch overlooking the Annapurna and other mountains. After our lunch, we’ll head towards the final destination for today i.e. Pothana(1890m).

We’ll leave behind Pothana and Trek towards Forest Camp(2600 m). From Forest Camp, you’ll be able to see some majestic glimpses of the Annapurna Range. We’ll explore the forest camp and its beauty today.

Leaving behind, The Forest Camp, we’ll walk towards the High Camp(3580m). If lucky enough, you’ll be able to hear the singing of Nepal’s National Bird “Danphe”. We’ll take a break in the low camp for our lunch whilst enjoying the beauty of Mt. Machapuchhre. We’ll continue our trek towards High Camp, whilst enjoying the Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli. We’ll end today’s trek at High Camp – the final destination of the day.

We’ll start our day before the sun’s rays fall in the silvery mountains, to witness the sunrise and see the close-up view of Mardi Himal, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Mt. Fang, Mt. Machapuchhre, Mt. Singhachuli. We’ll enjoy some quality time looking towards the High Himalayas, if possible with a cup of Nepali tea. We’ll spend some time in the Base Camp(4500 m) before heading back toward High Camp.
Overnight Stay in Mardi Himal Base Camp.
Leaving behind the High Camp(3580m), We’ll trek towards sidhing village(1945m) along the bank of the Mardi Khola. The trees will start appearing in the way making the trail greener with every step-down.
Overnight stay at Sidhing Village.
Today’s day will start with a short trek to Lumre and towards Saidighatta. This will be the last trekking for this trip. Whilst reaching Saidighatta we’ll drive towards Pokhara, enjoying the beauty of Nepal’s Countryside.

Leaving footprints in the trails and preserving the memories of the Annapurna Region, we’ll drive towards Kathmandu. You’ll enjoy the curvy roads of Nepal’s hills and its greenery along the way. We’ll drop you off at the hotel and today day is over.
Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
After breakfast, we’ll visit Swayambhunath Stupa, said to be 2000 years stupa on a hillock that offers a breathtaking view of Kathmandu City. We will then proceed to visit Pasupatinath and Bouddhanath. We’ll visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is the famous for its Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples, and you can catch the traditional artisans working with wood, stones, and metals.We have lunch some where then drive back to Hotel.
Evening ,our team will gift you with an evening farewell dinner, for they’ve had a quality time with you.

This trek is suitable for a trekker looking for a peaceful and uncrowded trail in the Himalayas. This trek is also one of the best alternatives to the ABC trek as it not only offers the same panoramic view of the Annapurna ranges but also a relatively uncrowded trail even in the peak trekking seasons.
The best season for trekking this trail is in Autumn (September, October, and November), and Spring (March, April, and May). The temperature of this region is neither hot nor cold in these seasons. The average temperature of Mardi Trail in these seasons is around 20°C.
Yes, this trail can be trekked in the winter but it can be challenging in the winter as it is filled with lots of snow. The average temperature of this trail is 10°C in the winter season. And the nights can reach up to -5°C. You may face difficulties while walking in snow-covered areas. You’re suggested to bring winter jackets and clothes to keep you warm. Although the difficulties you’ll face in the snow, you can enjoy a clear sky as there will not be much clouds to block the scenic beauty of the mountains.
